François Nars en el Makeup para Marc Jacobs
I love the concept behind this look!
NYFW Beauty Trends: Creatures of the Wind Fall 2012. Wow Dewy skin and glossy eyes…
To go with the “element of parallel existences – the real world versus the fairy world” at Creatures of the Wind Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehmer paired dewy skin with glossy eyes.
“You can’t use enough moisturiser – it’s dewy and really radiant,” said James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry. “The eye should be defined in its shape but worn-in with its effect. As if you can see the eyelid through it, which we get from the gloss.”

Meeting Mr. François Nars
One of my makeup junkie dreams came true a few days ago. This past Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. François Nars. He made an appearance at Nordstrom Bellevue to sign his books Makeup Your Mind Express and X-Ray or the Nagauta Kabuki Brush Set. Although François was there for over two hours. There were about forty artists —regional and national, providing makeovers all day. It was a huge event!
I chose the Nagauta Kabuki Brush Set. Nagautas (long song) were performed in Kabuki theater —thank you to my sister for the information on this! I have been wanting most of these brushes for a while, but had never pulled the trigger. I figured I had to have them now that François Nars himself would be able to sign the box himself! In case you are wondering, his favorite brushes in this set are Botan (the big buffer brush) and Yachiyo (blush brush).
From left to right: Botan Brush, Ita Brush, Yachiyo Brush, Kabuki Lip Brush and Kabuki Eye Brush.
The three face brushes are available for individual sale, the lip and eye brushes are somewhat exclusive to the set. You may remember a mini version of the kabuki eye brush included in the Hanamichi Eye Shadow Palette. As for the kabuki lip brush, it can also be found in the Lip Bento Box from 2 years ago — the one that had only two colors. I did not get the mini lip bento box from last year with three mini colors, although I suspect the brush might be identical or a mini version.
I also was able to get a makeover with Chris Mays a Nars National Artist Trainer. I ended up buying another tinted moisturizer in a lighter shade—I had been matched right after vacationing in Hawaii and since there is not much sun in Seattle my tan faded, Maria-Galante duo which I had skipped from Summer, concealer stick in Cacao for contouring, Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Coeur Sucré, Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in St. Marks Place and Small Dome Eye Brush N°12.
I was gifted the Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself Eyes palette as a gift with purchase.
I leave you with a very unflattering picture of me… but at least it is with Mr. Nars!
I hope you enjoyed the post! I definitely had a blast meeting François Nars, he is extremely nice and personable.
